So... We're having a BABY! Yes, Starrla is pregnant!
We're counting weeks until October 20, when we expect to meet the newest addition to our family and we wonder, will it be bows or beaus? Nobody knows!

We're enjoying our home in Kansas City as I am diligently finishing the Ph.D. and anticipating what God has for us beyond all our newest updates. Starrla is traveling the country with MADD and I've completed the data collection phase of my dissertation, which included a cross-country trip over about a 7-week span. The study is on the phenomenon of Christian conversion facilitated/initiated by online media, specifically I am Second, and has culminated in-depth interviews and hearing some very complex and fascinating life stories while being reminded of grace and transformation given through Christ.
Over the summer, we look forward to a variety of preaching commitments in several states, as well as officiating a wedding for good friends in Texas, and also our 10-year wedding anniversary vacation to the beach.
Leave us your email and we'll send you an update when we know if we're having a little boy or girl. Let's stay connected and do this life together.
We love you,
Just an update - I am currently in week two of a six-week road trip doing research. Part of my dissertation is 35+ in-depth interviews with people who have experienced conversion facilitated or initiated by online media, specifically people who have been saved through 'I am Second.' It's been a thrilling trip, and beyond the long drives, I've met fascinating people whom God has radically changed. Many of them have deeply sorted backgrounds.
So far I've covered five states in this first leg and by the end I will have visited 33 states and have driven well over 10,000 miles. Six weeks is a lot of driving, but Starr and I have been able to work a bit of our travel together; by the end of it, we will have spent close to three of those six weeks traveling together, so it’s a fun season as I put in long hard days and knock out this dissertation.
Lincoln is suffering the most... staying with good friends who provide lots of unsolicited back rubs and puppy hugs.
What might this next year look like for you?
